Do you have a hard time asking for it, be it financial, emotional or otherwise? It's a tough thing for me to do personally and I don't know exactly why. I feel like a failure when I ask for it, but like an idiot when I need it and don't.

Well, not the idiot part, because I've got too much of my identity wrapped up in not asking for help and I find it terribly humiliating even if I finally do, but the failure thing? Um, yeah. Big time. Which would be what feeds the humiliation thing, I'm sure.
